Meaghan Aubuchon becomes first Licensed Paralegal in Southern Oregon
In 2024, the Oregon State Bar enacted a program to license paralegals in an endeavor to increase access to justice for all Oregonians. A Licensed Paralegal in family law has the ability to perform many legal tasks (such as drafting legal documents for court filings) that used to be reserved solely for attorneys. This allows Oregonians to hire a legal professional at lower cost and with greater availability than hiring counsel. A Licensed Paralegal must demonstrate an great deal of experience and education in a specific area of law, such as family law, and pass an exam before receiving licensure. Licensed Paralegals are regulated by the Oregon State Bar in a similar manner to attorneys.
Meaghan Aubuchon has been working in the area of family law for well over a decade. Meaghan became fully licensed in spring of 2025 and is the first Licensed Paralegal (LP) based in Southern Oregon. Meaghan is looking forward to working with clients and assisting them in areas of family law, such as dissolution of marriage, custody, parenting time and support.
